This week the entire DP development team took the new Adobe Certification exams and passed with flying colors. There was of course a bit of sweating, the unavoidable gnashing of teeth and the obligatory pre-amble of disclaimers before we all hunkered down on March 9th at the local testing center.
The certification tests were administered by Enlighten, a competitor to VUE, the company that has historically been used for all of Macromedia’s testing. The general consensus by our team was positive. The questions were all reasonable and actually representative of what real-world developers need to know to be successful. In the past there has been a fair smattering of totally esoteric questions that even the most navel gazing member of the ColdFusion product development team might have been oblivious to.
So what does this certification really mean? On one level, absolutely nothing; our developers are no smarter than they were on Wednesday --- though maybe there are a couple more gray hairs. On another level, it proves that we are professionals dedicated to delivering the best possible standards-based ColdFusion applications anywhere for our clients.
